Patriots select Myron Pryor DT Kentucky

By: G-reg

The Patriots have selected DT out of Kentucky Myron Pryor. Pryor is 6'0 and 319. Myron has dealt with numerous injuries throughout his career. In 2008 he made 2nd team All SEC. Last season he had 11 tackles for a loss and 4.5 sacks.

This is the second DT the Pats have selected in this draft. Does this mean the end for Wilfork?

NFL Draft Countdown

Strengths:
Excellent bulk...Good athleticism...Real quick and agile...Has a burst to close...Good strength...Plays with proper leverage...Penetrates and makes plays in the backfield...A hard worker...Has a lot of experience.

Weaknesses:
Shorter than you would prefer...Frame is maxed out...Finesse guy and is not very tough...Has trouble getting off blocks...Can be neutralized by double teams...Was not overly productive...Durability's a big issue.

Notes:
Was a three-year starter for the Wildcats...Named 2nd Team All-SEC in 2008...Dealt with foot, pec, turf toe, thumb, and ankle ailments in college...Has a long history of pectoral injuries dating back to his prep days...Had a very impressive senior campaign and really improved his draft stock...Profiles as a one-gapper/three-technique at the pro level.
