Pats get a Long Snaper Jake Ingram of Hawaii

By: Greg
The Patriots have selected Jake Ingram of Hawaii. Ingram is a long snapper and will make the team at that position. With the loss of the snow angel the Patriots needed a long snapper and this pick was a wise one.
When asked who the best Long Snapper was in the draft, Mel Kipper quickly said Ingram was. Look for Ingram to be a long term Patriot at LS.

NFL Draftcountdown:

Strengths:
Decent athleticism...Extremely accurate...Outstanding balance...Is not fazed by pressure...Intense and active...Consistent...Gets a lot of zip on his snaps...Has a strong work ethic...Still improving...Team leader.

Weaknesses:
Average size and bulk...Needs to get stronger...Not real fast and won't help out much in coverage down the field...Isn't a great tackler...Not stout at the point...All he does is snap and won't offer value elsewhere.

Notes:
Nickname is "The Snake"...Was a three-year starter...Younger brother Luke is also a long-snapper for the Warriors...Began his career as a walk-on but eventually earned a scholarship...Served as the snapper for extra points, field goals and punts...Academic All-WAC in 2006...His other position is / was defensive end...Was initially leery about becoming a full-time long-snapper but has now embraced the position and really strives to hone his skills...Has a legitimate shot to be drafted and could end up playing in the league for a very long time.
