Welcome Rich Ohrnberger to the Patriots

By Greg

The Patriots have take OG Rich Ohrnberger out of Penn State. He was rated the 8th best OG in the draft by NFL Draftcountdown. He adds youth to the offensive line and could fill in as a back up. With the Patriots having a bunch of their offensive linemen's contracts up next year it was important for the Pats to get youth on the offensive line.

NFL Draft coutdown

Very tough and aggressive...Plays with a nasty demeanor...Quick and agile...Great mobility and range...Does a nice job in space...Smart with top awareness...Solid technician...Good leverage...A lot of experience.

Weaknesses:
Limited athletically...Doesn't have the bulk you look for...Not very powerful or explosive...Lacks a violent initial punch...Isn't real stout at the point of attack...Struggles to sustain...Is not a fit for every team.

Notes:
A three-year starter for the Nittany Lions...Has experience on both the right and left sides...Was named 2nd Team All-Big Ten as a junior and 1st Team as a senior...Could project to either guard or center at the pro level...Best fit will most likely come in a zone blocking scheme.
