The first tune up for the 2009 Patriots season is here. Tonight the Pats "battle" the Philly Iggles.
First thing many people are asking...is Tom Brady starting and how long will he play?
Yes, Brady will start the game but BB was not sure on how much playing time he will get:
“I don’t know,” he said. “It’s been a different training camp this year so I don’t know what he’s got in store. From his tone and the message (Coach Bill Belichick) been sending to the team, it doesn’t sound like it’s going to be a first preseason game for us. I think he wants to see what we’re all about. So I don’t think it’s like a guest appearance or anything like that. I think we’re going out there to play.”- Herald
I think Brady and the first offense will most likley play the 1st quarter and thats is it, and that may be shooting high. It will be fun to see Brady back in game action with his buddies Wes and Randy along with new additions Galloway and Lewis.
Galloway and Lewis will be fighting for that third WR spot all preseason and one of those players can really get a leg up in the competition tonight. Many have said who ever loses the battle will most likley be cut.
We know that the Iggles will go about a quarter and half with their starters. "We’ll go a quarter and a half with the starters,” Reid told reporters Wednesday. “Guys will be rotating in and out but the base starting group will be in there for that duration.”- Hearld
Who to watch??
One guy to watch tonight is Julian Edelman who was a quarterback in college but now is being converted into a WR/ Returner. I saw Edelman in college and he can make plays. He is transitioning nicely into his new position and turning heads at camp. Lets see if he can do it in a live game.
