We have done full first round Mock Drafts now the Blauhg is going to do a full Patriots draft. Many mocks have predicted what the Pats will do in the first round, we are going to predict what they do with every pick. For this mock we went to http://www.draftsite.com/nfl/index.php?draft=2010&round=1 which has a full seven round draft with every pick. We at the Blaugh will be picking for the Patriots and can not take any player who is taken before the Patriots pick.
Here are our needs: The Pats have four picks in the first two rounds and have a lot of needs. The Pats need another Wide Receiver to be their number three, and to replace Randy Moss next year. The Pats also need a pass rusher badly. They were one of the worst pass rushing teams in the league, every team had all day to sit in the pocket and cut through their porous secondary. They also need a TE but I really hope they don’t take one early because TE is not used that much in the Pats offense. They could also use a running back of the future, with Phoney Maroney in his last year and they rest of the old running backs losing tread on their tires. Linebacker and CB is also on the Pats needs list
22. New England (10-6)
Dez Bryant WR Ok State
Look I don’t think Bryant will be there at 22 but if he is like in this mock and many other mocks around the web the Patriots will scoop him up faster than Usain Bolt. Dez would bring a playmaker to the 3rd WR position and a future number 1 WR when Randy Moss leaves after this season.
Round 2 (Where the Patriots have 3 picks)
44. Ricky Sapp OLB Clemson
Sapp is an outside LB who is coming off a knee injury but is very talented. Last season while earning 2nd team All Acc he had 5 sacks and 7 QB pressures.
47. Devin McCourty CB Rutgers
Devin is a solid CB who had 72 tackles and 1 interception who will compete for a job with the rest of the Pats young secondary.
53. Rob Gronkowski TE Arizona
Gronkowski brings a pass catching threat to a depleted TE core with the Patriots. Rob had 47 catches for over 600 yards and 10 tuddies last season while playing in the Pac 10
Round 3- No Pick
119. Lagarette Blount RB Oregon
The punch seen around the world or Idaho. Blount has character problems but is worth a shot in round four. Blount knows hes is on thin ice and BB can turn him around. Blount would have been a 2nd rounder if it wasn’t for the punch so fourth round value is good here.
Round 5- no pick
190. Willie Young DE NC State
The Pats need to pressure the QB this season and Young gives them some late round value. Young has 8 sacks last season and throughout his career in the ACC Young was able to get to the QB (20 sacks in his career)
205. Armanti Edwards WR/Athlete Appalachian State
Edwards played QB at the college level but is a crazy athlete who could be like Randel El, Cribbs and/or Edelman in the NFL. Edwards projects to be a slot receiver and a dynamic returner. Worth a shot here with multiple picks in the late rounds.
Round 7 (5 picks- The Patriots will not keep all of these picks, look for them to trade 1 or more)
229. Andre Dixon – RB UConn
Dixon tallied 1000 plus yards and 14 tuddies for the Huskies last season. The Pats need some youth in their back field and getting a guy like Dixon this late would be a great addition.
231. Chris McCoy DE Middle Tenn St
Quick defensive end from a small school who had 7 sacks last season.
247.Zoltan Mesko Punter Michigan
The Pats need some competition at the Punter spot and Zoltan is the best on the board.
248.Dennis Landolt OT Penn State
Big agile OT whom could make the team
250. Max Hall QB BYU
Accurate QB who played in a high octane offense, the Pats are known for their late round QB pick ups.
