The need is there. The guy is there. All the Patriots need to do is pull the trigger. The Patriots have a need at WR with Welker out for some of the season (and who knows how good he will be when he comes back), Randy Moss in the last year of his contract and no third WR.
Brandon Marshall is on the trading block and for only a first round pick, it would be a steal. While Marshall is a head case, he is one of the top 5 wide outs in the game. BB has changed other malcontents (Dillion, Moss) to buy into his ways and I think Marshall could be another. Marshall would instantly be the number one target for Tom Brady and a number one receiver for years to come. Imagine a line up of Moss, Marshall and Welker: that is a fantasy football line up.
The Patriots are picking at number 22 and a lot of mock drafts have them taking a WR at that spot or early in the second round. Who would you rather a guy 1100 yards and 10 tuddies in the NFL last year or some unproven rookie WR. Put it this way if Brandon Marshall was inserted into this draft, he would not slip past the first 5 picks. Getting a guy like him for the number 22 pick would be a steal. Plus the Patriots then can concentrate on thier other needs with thier three second round picks.
Marshall would put the Patriots offense as one of the most electric offenses in football and maybe break thier record of 2007. It would be a mistake not to make this trade happen.....
