Patriots Playback: Bill Belichick

By: Greg

Coach BB has made some eye raising moves over his career with the Patriots. He has cut Lawyer, signed Dillion and Moss, benched Bledsoe, ect.

What will his moves be this season? Will Logan be a Patriot come September? Which running back will be the starter this season? Will any of the vets that the Pats have had for years be cut? September is around the corner!

Logan Mankins demands a trade

By: Greg
The new big Of the offseason is the contract situation with one of the the Patriots best lineman Logan Mankins. He said he will not sign his restricted free agent sheet and feels insulted by the Patriots.

“There is no way I am signing that thing”- Logan
"At this point, I'm pretty frustrated, from everything that's happened and the way negotiations have gone," Mankins said in a phone interview. "I want to be traded. I don't need to be here any more."

This could be a huggge distraction for the Patriots. What the Patriots are doing right now is moving Nick Kazcur to Logans position and Vollmer at the other tackle.

Let’s hope the Pats can get something done long term with Logan because it would be a big blow to the Pats offensive line leadership and depth.

This Lineman Can't Play on the Other Side of the Line

By Rocky,

We'll be honest, frank and brief in the wake of the Logan Mankins situation: we have no idea what separates a left guard from a right tackle. We, like most-every media outlet, hasn't a clue what goes on in the trenches and how one big guy can't block from another position but this humble blog will striaght-up tell you that we don't know. Any fool who claims to tell you why one lineman can't line-up a matter of feet to where he has been pre-ordained is got to be blowing smoke. Is this is a Zoolander situation where Derek can't turn right? Impossible. What we can say for certain is that the guy who fills in for Mankins better have a beard or have graduated from Derek Zoolander's School for Kids Who Can't Read Good and Want to Do Other Stuff, you know, the Fighting Maylasians.

AMAZING: Welker practices at OTAs

By: Greg
We all saw Wes Welker go down along with the Patriots Super Bowl dreams in the final regular season game just a few months ago. Welker tore his ACL and it looked BAD. Many thought and still believe that Welker will not be back until at least half way through the season. Well today was huge surprise and step for Welkers availability for the upcoming season.

Welker practiced at OTAs today running through agility bag drills and ran routes and caught passes at three quarter speed all while wearing a brace on his left knee.

“At one point while on the practice fields, he ran about 10 yards, stopped abruptly, and turned to catch a pass from Tom Brady.” Mike Reiss-

Riess also reported Randy Moss’ words on Welker:

“It’s very impressive to me. I’m a big fan of Welker’s, way before he came here, back when he was in Miami. So I can’t wait to have him back on the field, whenever that day comes. Sky is the limit, so we’ll see what happens.”

What a surprise. It looks like this guy has been working his ass off. Welker is such a key cog in this offense, if the Pats can get him back earlier than expected it would be a huge boost. At the same time I am hoping he does not rush back and do any more damage on the knee. That being said this is quite a good surprise for the Patriots chances this season.
