Patriots bolster defensive line with Shaun Ellis

By Greg
The Patriots have made another addition to their defensive line. They now have brought in ex Jet Shaun Ellis. Ellis is a defensive end who played for the Jets the last 11 years had 72 sacks over that period of time.

Ellis can play in either the 4-3 or the 3-4, he will give the Pats a stout run defender in the 4-3 along with the ability to get after the QB. Last season he had 5 sacks, the seasons before he had 6.5 and 8. He also sacked Brady twice in the playoff match up last season, one to forget. He has been a Patriot killer over the past few seasons with BB double teaming him often.

The defensive line is now coming into shape. Wilfork, Haynesworth and Ellis will be extremely tough to run against. Ellis and Anderson bring pressure to the qb, while Cunningham brings speed and youth.
